Christ or Chaos

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.

Genesis 1: 1-3

Before there was order, there was chaos. It's formless, void, and dark. God did not leave it that way. He hovered over the deep, spoke light into existence, and pushed the chaos back until creation stood ordered under His rule.

He made us in His image to do the same: to take dominion, to cultivate beauty, and to push back the formlessness wherever it intrudes. Sin broke the levy. Chaos flooded the human heart. Confusion, emptiness, and darkness fought for dominion.

But God will not let chaos win. Christ entered the fray. When He rose from the dead, He struck the decisive blow. And He formed His Church not as a safe retreat, but as the Church militant, continuing the war that will be won.

So we plant churches. We marry and raise children by faith. We speak truth in the public square. We reclaim what sin has twisted. Inch by inch, soul by soul, the Kingdom advances. We live lives ordered around the One who knit us together in His own image. We reject rebellion and we repent.

It's going to be Christ or it's going to be Chaos.

There is no third option.
